About Me

From time to time I am going to post a blog about something I really like, whether it be a movie, book, artist, ect. Today I would like to share with you all my favorite song of all time. The song is titled "The Day The World Went Away" by Nine Inch Nails off of "The Fragile" cd released back in 2000. It was actually the first song I had heard by NIN and started a love affair with Trent Reznors music that is still going strong. For all of you that don't know, Trent Reznor is the single person behind the 'band' known as Nine Inch Nails. He writes the music and lyrics as well as produces most of his own music. On tour he usually has a certain group (however lately the lineup has changed often) to play the music live. I first bought the single for the song 'The Day The World Went Away (or TDTWWA) on a Christmas break trip to Memphis when I was still in high school long before I ever knew I'd be living in Memphis for school and work. There are many variations of TDTWWA available, but my all time favorite is off of the single release and it is known as "the quiet" version. Also, a bit of trivia related to the song, it is recently featured in the trailer for the new Terminator Salvation movie which can be viewed here Terminator Salvation . (trailer 3) Here is also a link to the quiet version on youtube if you'd like a listen :-) TDTWWA (Quiet)

WW Weigh in Week 5

SWEET! At today's Weight Watchers weigh in I lost 1.8 lbs! I started the program on Feb 19 at 162 lbs and am now down to 157.8 lbs. I definitely feel like I could have lost more but there was an awesome birthday week for the roommate thrown in there and a few crazy nights out on the town. The goal this week is to do everything by the book and move past the 5 lb mark towards my goal of a total 20 lbs! Cheers!

Preview of Jacque's Senior Photo Shoot

Today is the big day!

Today is the first day of two big goals I am hoping to achieve this year. The first is to run the Chicago Rock 'n' Roll Half-Marathon on August 2nd. So, I'm not exactly a runner, or at least not yet. The extent of my running abilities were in Jr. High football, and that was mostly sprinting. This will definitely be my first attempt at any type of long distance running. I made it to the gym around 8:00 am to begin my first week of training. Now, because I have zero history running, I found a nifty little training plan on RunnersWorld.com to get me running a solid 30 minutes without stopping. If you're interested in checking out my training schedule, click here.

I am also starting my P90X workout program today. I've decided to wait and post the Day 1 picture until I have a Day 30 picture to post with it and compare :-)

This past weekend was busy busy busy. My sister came into town so that I could start taking some of her senior pictures. It was also my roommates surprise birthday party, which was incredibly fun.

WELCOME!

Hello and welcome to my new blog! My name is Joshua and I currently live in Memphis, TN. I've decided to leave the world of Facebook and Myspace to pursue a more individual look into my life and interests. The creation of this blog comes at a very busy time in my life and will hopefully do a good job of chronicling all the happenings along the way. Currently I'm in my last semester of classes towards aMasters of Arts in Teaching degree at Memphis College of Art. My friend Mindy and I have decided to train towards running the Chicago Rock-n-Roll Marathon on August 2nd. I will also be beginning a new workout program by the name P90X (which I'm sure all you late night infomercial people will recognize) on March 16th to further my New Years Resolution to become fit and healthy in 2009. My love for Photography and Graphic Design has really began to expand in recent months as well, so I hope to share my images and designs for your viewing and to help get feedback on my work.

I really hope to achieve an open-minded and creative forum to share all the things in life that keep me going and make life exciting... JUST KEEP SWIMMING!
